The directors and staff of Capital Radio (SL) Ltd have a wide range of experience of commercial radio broadcasting and business management.
The chairman of Capital Radio is well-known Freetown entrepreneur Adonis Abboud. He is the proprietor of Transnational Limited, the company which handles DSTV in Sierra Leone. The Capital Radio project has been a long-term ambition for Adonis and success came in January 2005 when Capital won a FM licence from the Independent Media Commission to serve the Western Area including Freetown.
Adonis Abboud is a citizen of Sierra Leone and is proud of his company’s achievements in developing media communications in the country. Now, Capital Radio will continue the developmental work in radio. In a completely different field, Adonis is one of the backers of the Miss Sierra Leone competition.
Married with three grown-up children, Adonis is particularly well-known for his charitable work in Freetown and in the country. He loves music of all kinds and for relaxation he likes nothing better than a game of Frisbee on the beach!
The technical director of Capital Radio is David Stanley. David has long standing connections with the radio scene in Sierra Leone, having worked with SLBS and the BBC, establishing their transmitter networks throughout the country.
As a broadcast engineer, David has traveled the world setting up radio stations. Before setting up the Capital Radio facilities, he was working in Afghanistan reconstructing radio networks after the conflict there.
Recently married, he is also a lover of the beach and enjoys nothing more than a cold beer and a few peanuts at one of Freetown's many beach bars. |
